Duct Cleaning Scams

In the last five years, duct cleaning has become popular, because more HVAC dealers and others are offering this service. Duct cleaning can be very important, especially if you have never had it done and your home is more than ten years old. @comfortguyjerry cannot believe some of the stuff that we have literally sucked out with our 'negative air' machine.
So it's the right thing to do. That being said, you need to be aware there are always guys out there to make a fast buck, do inferior work, or bait and switch you to spend more. Usually it is some off the wall, unbelievable money saving offer or coupon. Of course once they get out to your home they start to up charge for every thing that they should do in the first place. In reality, a quality duct cleaning job for your whole house should cost between $350 to $500 dollars, depending on the number of ducts and return air vents in your home. I know that our man takes anywhere from 5-8 hours to perform a duct cleaning service, so there is no way he could do that, and the company only charge $49.00 or $79.00. That does not even cover wages, insurance, expenses, etc. So my point is; Don't get scammed! Select a quality, insured, company, with well marked trucks. Companies that have a good report from the Better Business Bureau and others.
